Wedding Vow Renewals

A wedding vow renewal ceremony is an opportunity for a married couple, or civil partners, to renew or reaffirm their wedding vows.  The ceremonies have been popular in Italy and the United States for decades and have, more recently, became popular in the UK.  They may be seen as a way for a couple to renew their commitment to each other and demonstrate that the vows they took are still considered central to their relationship.

Reasons couples mention for holding a vow renewal ceremony include having passed through a difficult time or the celebration of a significant anniversary.  For many, it is a thanksgiving for marriage and the celebration of a strong and long-lasting union.
